7-Week Old Pit Bull Puppy Gets First Bath And It’s Blissful!

Puppies! Puppies! Puppies! What’s not to love about puppies? They’re so very cute, they smell amazing, and they are just so innocent and lovable! They’re perfection.

They might chew up our nice leather shoes or maybe a pillow or two – leaving your living room covered in pillow stuffing. But hey – we love them so much, we even forgive them for the worst of behavior.

But there’s something even MORE magical about newborn puppies. They’ve just opened their eyes and they’re not quite sure about their surroundings or even their own little bodies!

The video on the next page is truly the sweetest and most precious clip we’ve seen in awhile. It’s going to make you swoon – that’s a guarantee.

Continue to the next page to see this dreamy little brown Pit Bull puppy, named Lucy, get her first bath at her new home. With her new loving family. So sweet.

Aawww I just want to give him a slobbery kiss on his snout. His mistress showed such love. Please love him for life no matter the puppy mischief he’ll get up to.

I am sorry, but you can see the puppy is stressed. It is shaking, it’s paws are curved over the edge of the tub and tightened, it’s eyes show that it is NOT enjoying the moment. Jeeze…..come on, be better than this…..

i noticed he was shaking myself. i was hoping it was because he cold. but i don’t think he was enjoying it either.

Let me guess Bruce, you would suggest Lucy never has a bath because in your opinion she is stressed? I am a glass half full person and I see a puppy who is enjoying the love and care she is being shown! Jeez!!!

I totally agree

I have never seen a dog who likes a bath so I think it was cute. Lighten up on the dog being stressed. It’ll live just fine and smell better.

When I give my pup’s their first bath I put on a swim suit & get in the tub with the pup on my lap. That way the pup feels comforted & confident. I do this until the response to the phrase “bath time” is met with a voluntary walk into the tub. My dogs all have loved their baths. It’s become a fun time to bond, play & give a good skin exam.

I don’t think he liked that very much. He was shaking and was hanging on for dear life. I think he felt much better when he was wrapped in the towel. He is very cute though.

Give a break…evey puppy will have,a,first bath …stress is unavoidable, altbough he will quickly rebound

Stella

Dogs will shake like that when doing something new. Chill, worriers, he isn’t being abused.

if that isn’t the cutest little face I don’t know what is. loved seeing the first bath.

She didn’t look too stressed to me! She may not have liked her bath but she was cuddled in the end! I had a dog who would race all over the house when I was done bathing her. Then she would cuddle up to me getting me all wet! Revenge? Maybe. LOL but she loved me and I loved her too!

First of all this puppy is not a “he”. It’s a “she” named Lucy. She’s an infant dog and they tremble at the slightest provocation…largely because their nervous system is still developing. And she wasn’t whining, whimpering or scrambling to get out of there, all indicators that she was fine.

Yes 7 weeks old and very first bath. I would be scared! But she was loving it toward the end.

Poor puppy looked scared and didn’t look like was enjoying it

The pup looked fine. There might have been a little chill in the air cause of the room temp causes them to shake. It is a short haired breed why I made this observation. Also, they usually whine and cry. We heard only music so I cannot assume anything else.

The temp in the room might have made it a little uncomfortable. We only heard music so we cannot hear it whine or cry. I did not see its mouth open like it suffering discomfort.

First bath, he is going to be a little scared. Then toward the end, he was happy!!!!!

For a start Lucy is a girl not a boy so if you are leaving a negative comment try and get that right secondly….she is 7 weeks old, her new owners are getting her used to having a bath….They didn’t fill a massive bath up with water they did it in the sink so as not to overwhelm her. It was a cute lovely video yet some people are just so negative about everything it’s unbelievable.

7 weeks old and taken away from her mother?? Thought 8 weeks was the minimum. .10 weeks better. Perhaps this is why we have such neurotic dogs. Bath and cuddles were ok but really people try to think about a dogs emotions..yanked away from mom and taken over by strangers so young.

Agree. I was wondering why a 7 week old puppy was at her new home. I thought it was 10 – 12 weeks with momma before pup leaves to start a life with its own family.

Little baby was getting tired getting that bath!!!!

My two week old daughter was stressed out at her first bath too. No matter her grandmother was being very loving and gentle. It was a new experience. A first in life of many. So, no. I don’t feel bad for the puppy. He looked like he’d rather be napping, but sometimes that’s how it goes when you’re a baby.

That wasn’t a bath, it was a shower. In a tub with a towel for her to stand on, not deep and wash with dog shampoo that is good for skin and fur.
I suggest someone just wanted to make cute video. Rather see a video with them playing together.

point of first bath is that it’s the first. owner was gentle and loving to ease I original fears… and pup didn’t look so shook up, come on now, all snuggled, thick fluffy towel, in her ‘new mommy’s’ arm, close to her heart, safe, snug and sound. probably feels like a million bucks 😊

I wish all animals could feel this love. Yes he may be scared a little since it’s his first bath but all I see is someone who is being kind and gentle to the pup. I would rather see something like this instead of the alternative.

If you’ve ever brought a dog or puppy home from a shelter, the first thing you’re going to want to do is give them a bath to get rid of the strong smell of disinfectant and any containment on them. It was done in a very gentle manner and the baby was cuddled and comforted to establish trust.

Those EYES are adorable!! He’ll get used to the bath. I think he handled it well, considering it was his first time.

This poor puppy should still be with it’s Mum, far too young to wean ! This makes my heart break as it certainly upset !

Come on you guys…are you all that ignorantly?
A puppy should be with it’s mother to until at least eight weeks.
A puppy this you does not need a bath either.

You are so right..

Just a note… when bathing any dog at home (but especially a small dog or puppy, try putting a towel in the sink covering both sides of the sink… the little dog will have better ‘traction’ … he/she can put their little paws on the edge of the sink & have something to cling to … it is a little more mess to clean up afterward, but worth it to have the pup comfy. 🙂

All the blurb in the article about the pup loving its first bath is why people are commenting that it looked stressed. As it’s a blatant lie. Nobody is saying it shouldn’t be bathed.

I agree people I don’t know what you were looking but I didn’t see it shaking or clinching it’s feet.

Diane

So many negative people! That’s bc they’re so unhappy with their own lives they try making others miserable lol. Didn’t work.

Ada

I agree with Bruce,
that is not the face of a happy pup! Her eyes are showing fear , .

For the life of me, I can’t fathom why a sweet puppy would need a bath with SOAP, which dries out their skin! Just let the poor little tyke be a puppy…they smell sweet without all the human intervention! I had a Golden Retriever who loved to swim, get in the tub, and even take showers – but only ONCE in his life did he ever need a bath with SOAP. People thing dogs are people. They aren’t. They’re dogs. Let them be dogs. I don’t think this pup looked particularly happy.

I meant “think,” not “thing.”

Why not change your name to Negative Nellie? You’ve taken a perfectly sweet video and make a big production about it. I guess misery really does love company. Sheeeeeeesh, who peed in your cereal this morning?
